| Wet Wet Wet played a marvelous
gig!! It's strange that although I know how fantastic they sound live,
I am always amazed again when I am actually there. They were all
looking fitt
and well and they played with great enthusiasme. Starting with their
biggest hit was such a good choice in my opinion, as people want to
hear it but it doesn't deserve to be their 'grand finale' as they have
even better songs of their own! The setlist was build up perfectly;
some
uptempo songs followed by soulful songs, familiar old songs and
stunning
new songs. An inspiring bunch of excellent material, played with
passion, and Marti sang them in his own incredible way. They are so
versatile; they play rock, dance, and ballads; easily fascinating you
from the first till the last song. In Every Heart, a tribute to
Roy Orbinson suits Marti's amazing voice totally. Too Many People got
everyone at his feet and Weightless, their new single sounded fabulous
too. Heaven made me shiver, it's so completely beautiful and
touching. Number one Goodnight Girl was part of the acoustic set and
everyone sang along in harmony with Marti. I was stunned! Rock song Run
did the place heavering and the crowds reception hit the roof. More
than two hours and 21 songs later it was all over far too soon with
Marti's 'safe journey home
and god bless' and this time he kindly added: 'Merry Christmas and a
Happy New Year when it comes' *thank you for the music* Monique |
